Since end of last year, I finished my book about Unique records. The first part is a grafical work by Max Gadatsch, about the artist from this very special label. Than you find a photostory about the Unique club, this place for Keb Darge, Dj Swamp, Reuben Wilson and many other artists……with privat comments, german/english. Foreword by Eddie Piller. And comments by Soulrabbie. You can order it here or also via Amazon. But thats a bad gang.
This is what I´ve heard the days. The Cure – Disintegration, and some traditional moroccan musik, I bought in Marocco in the 80´s. It´s always a Gnaoua, some drums or bells, a mans voice and sometimes a mans choir. Like it a lot. And some mint/green tea with a lot of sugar.
Amsterdam, Vienna and Cologne. Three stops I checked with Stones Throws Dam Funk, Peanut Butter Wolf, the incredible Mayer Hawthorne, and live: James Pant (2nd from right) with his band. It was amazing, and I wonna say thanks to all (also to Alexandra and Tim) of them. See more pics at the Stones Throw homepage. Thanks to carhartt, for making this job possible.
It´s a cemetary planed 1914, builded 1918. The cementary was for the “small group of soldiers, witch will give their life for the Vaterland”. The sculpture should show Siegfried, the winner, after the battle. In 1914 there was also a draft proposal of Wilhelm Lehmbruck, named
“Der Gestürzte” (falling man), for this sculpture. It´s also Siegfrid with his sword. But they bought this heroic realistic (?) shit for this cemetery in 1918.
This is the building of the social pension fund, in the center of Düsseldorf. It´s not a skyscraper, but it makes human small too, and it looks like a mashine. It´s also one location, Wolf Gremm made his film “Kamikaze 1989” in 1982. Rainer Werner Fassbinder, the leading actor, plays a very unfriendly police inspector in this dark science fiction political thriller. He died at the 10th of June, 1982, in the age of 37. You can also see the german female actor Brigitte Mira. She was the main actor in Rainer Werner Fassbinders film “Angst essen Seele auf” (fear eats the soul), from 1973. Edgar Froese (Tangerime Dram) wrote the musik for Kamikaze 1989.
Photographed him at a techno event at the Tresor, Berlin. He was the last act of this event in November 2008. On the second photo, you can see him together with Jens Moelle from the electronic duo Digitalism, and his girlfriend, who made a rearly good Caipirinha, for everybody who want some. Both were verry nice, and his Kraftwerk pullover looked like grandma´s handmade. Later, Bernhard, the soundmixer, told me that his real name is Igor Cavalera. In 1984 he and his brother Max formed Sepultura, this trash – and deathmetal icon from Brasil. He left the band in 2006.
